Puppy Socialization Field Trips
Getting your puppy socialized the right way! This service is for puppies under 6 months only.
Proper socialization will increase confidence, help prevent reactivity, and fearfulness in new situations. A certified dog trainer will come and take your puppy to a variety of pre-approved locations nearby your house and properly socialize your puppy based on each pup's individual comfort levels.

1-hour outings per each visit to one location. The trainer will come to your home and pick up the puppy and bring the puppy back to your home. Only offered Monday-Friday.

We understand your puppy may not have all their vaccines just yet and that is perfectly fine. We strive to make sure safety is our first priority and we do not take your puppy to busy dog heavy areas, dog parks, and pet stores. They will also not be interacting or meeting with any other dogs.

Pre-approved locations vary from quiet parks, nearby trails, coffee shop patios, and stores such as Home Depot, Lowe's, and etc. based on your location.

Although this is not a training service. Your puppy will still get training practice with riding in a crate in the car politely and not jumping on the trainer.

Q: Can I have the puppy meet every dog and person?
A: No. We want to teach the puppy to watch new dogs and people from a distance but not have to greet every single person or dog. By practicing ignoring people and dog's, we are teaching them manners we want in the future and preventing reactivity and fearfulness.
Q: Why should I not take my puppy everywhere with me?

A: Each puppy is an individual and will have different responses to each new situation and interaction. A certified dog trainer will be able to observe the puppy's body language to make sure they are not overwhelmed or scared.

Q: Should I not take my puppy outside until they have all of their shots?
​
A: We will not be taking your puppy to high dog traffic areas such as dog parks, dog stores, and busy parks. They will not be interacting or meeting any dogs at all on our field trips. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least seven days prior to going on a field trip and a first deworming. (American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, 2008a).

Q: What is the point of puppy socialization field trips?
​
A: The critical puppy socialization phase is roughly between 3-16 weeks. During this time it is critical for us to introduce puppies to new environments, interactions, and have them observe common things in the human world at a safe and comfortable distance for your puppy. Proper socialization will increase confidence, help prevent reactivity and fearfulness in new situations.

Q: How will you be transporting my puppy?
​
A: We will have a crate set-up in the back seat unless your puppy is a great car rider and can sit with dog seat belt attached.
